Its far too easy to convince ourselves that we are actually doing something.
We talk about doing it.
We read about doing it.
We might even write about doing it.
But only DOING it is DOING it.
Too often people are on the lookout for what they can get from a person or situation. Where’s the contact? How much money could I earn from this? How can this person progress my career? Is this person going to be useful to me?
No matter how virtuous we might like to think we are, we’ve all done this at some point and some of us more than others.
Sure, you might get a one off financial reward for thinking like this. You might make a contact who opens a door for you. But it won’t last.

My Friday Favourite this week is a little self indulgent, but I highly recommend it. A facial by the incredible Lynn Taylor, owner of Room 92. Her signature facial is a far better investment than a trip to the surgeon and no needles required! Although she is very discreet about her client list, I can perfectly understand why people travel 2 hours to see her – I would.
